Blogs Don't Kill Bears, Running Does.

6:35 AM - The idea of running, and the actual execution of running are two different things. You might blog a mean game, but actually showing up to run is different. I completed my first 3 mile run in several months. It went very well. No stopping. Good Pace (for me). And the first sense of accomplishment. I didn't time it because the goal was just to keep going. Next workout is at 7:45 AM.

7:45 AM - Isometrics . . . are not fun after running. They are hard. 30 minutes of 45 second holds. Wow.

Breakfast - Vanilla Shakeology with a bit of peanut butter and a banana.

  1. I just found your site, I am also training for SELECTION one day, hopefully this year if I don't get injured by then. I am about to sign up for the HCLS in Jacksonville, FL during the end of April. My main goal is to complete the Heavy and then see how I feel for the rest. I would love to see what kind of training plan you have, there really isn't alot of information online about how to train for selection, other than what Burt put up on the GORUCK webpage. I plan on doing alot of Rucking, currently I am training similarly to you in that I run 3 days a week and ruck 2 days. I will be following your site from here on out, maybe we can share info and insight as we come across it, best of luck to you in your training!

  2. Whit,
Great to have you on board! I have three great resources that I'm using. Bert's training program, the book Getting Selected For Special Forces, and Hal Higdon's running programs. As for cross training, My wife and I are coaches with Beachbody. I'm finishing up P90X3, and plan to start a new program soon. Best of luck to you as well. Kill The Bear.
